So it’s no wonder the Ol’ Fox is popular with pony car enthusiasts. Now, Kurgan Motorsports of Atlanta has taken one of these semi-classics and retrofitted it with the barnstorming 5.0 L “Coyote” V8 and drivetrain from a wrecked 2011 Ford Mustang GT.
Kurgan Motorsports owner Bob Kurgan explains:
“The engine just dropped right in. It was everything else that was difficult. With this engine only being out for just a little while, everything had to be custom built for it to swap over. Getting the engine running was easy. We had to custom make the motor mounts, air conditioning brackets, power steering brackets ourselves. But it’s a friggin’ animal on the streets.”

Now, what we have here is a BMW E23 model, or to put it more simply, a first-generation 7-Series sedan. To be precise, it’s a 1985 728i that left the Bavarian firm’s factory with a 2.8-liter inline-six gasoline unit delivering 184 horsepower.
For aesthetic reasons us ordinary mortals would find hard to comprehend, the owner of the BMW went and transformed the front-end of the 728i in the likes of a Shelby Mustang, and the rear to imitate the look of a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. Speaking on the sidelines of the 2011 Geneva motor show, Ford's group vice president for global product development Derrick Kuzak, dropped the bomb: the next-generation of the company's pony car will be the first Mustang with styling themes proposed by studios in Europe, Australia and other regions. Up until now, the design of the Mustang was a U.S.-only matter.
"It is a common process we [now] use on every vehicle," Derrick Kuzak told reporters in Geneva. "When we embark on a new product, particularly one that is all new, it involves all of the studios. Then J [Mays, Ford's global design chief] and the design team pick the best of those themes," he added.
So we have this guy (it would have to be, yeah?) in a post-1987 Mustang. He’s participating in some sort of coned off track racing shenanigans. It’s all fun and games power sliding through the cones until the 1:05 minute mark. Then...BAM! On the plus side, the car hit on the passenger side, which appears from the video to be unoccupied.

So when the chaps and chapettes at the Mustang Klub Polska (Polish Mustang Club) release a video that not only features a dozen great Mustangs but also the cinematography to do these cars justice, you know I’m gonna pounce on this quicker than the news pounces on any story about Lindsay Lohan.
There are so many Mustangs in this vid, it’s hard to keep track of them all, but you’ll surely pick out the 2008 Mustang Bullitt, Dark Highland Green ’67 GT Fastback, red ‘65 convertible with the white top, a handful of 2010 Shelby GT500 Super Snakes and countless others including a few Foose Mustangs and a handful of Gen 4’s.

The model has been upgraded in nearly every aspect including engine output, brakes, suspension, interior and exterior all examined to optimize weight, aerodynamics and track performance.
The decision to build a modern Boss was not entered into lightly,” said Derrick Kuzak, group vice president, Global Product Development. “The entire team at Ford felt the time was right and with the right ingredients, the world-class 2011 Mustang could support a successful, race-bred, worthy successor to the original Boss 302. To celebrate the victory and the racing heritage, Ford will offer a limited number of Boss 302 Laguna Seca models for those interested in more on-track driving. The 302 Laguna Seca has increased body stiffness, a firmer chassis set-up and an aerodynamics package carried over almost in its entirety from the Ford Racing Boss 302R.

The 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 uses the same 5.0L V8 from the 2011 GT but to achieve the high-rpm horsepower to make it competitive on the track, Ford added a new intake, revised camshafts and a more aggressive control calibration. Thanks to whatever embargo breaking that's already occurred, we've known for a hebdomad that the 2011 author Mustang GT would arrange a brand newborn 5.0-liter V8 producing 412 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. We thought those tidbits might hold over the internet 'till the authorised embargo date lifts primeval next week, but we were criminal and therefore are ease awake at 1:30 AM on Christmas morning writing this post.
