Not to be outdone by GM and its Cadillac brand, which had recently published some fresh statistics about its all-wheel drive model sales in the States, Ford’s Lincoln division came out with a similar announcement to increase awareness and do some show off. The MKS is based on Ford's D3 platform, which is shared with the current Ford Taurus and other vehicles. The car is front-wheel drive with optional all-wheel drive. The MKS is powered by a 3.7 L Duratec V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. An optional EcoBoost 3.5 L twin-turbo, direct injection V6 is also available.
The MKS can seat up to five people. The MKS debuted with a base MSRP of $38,465 USD, ranging up to $48,835 USD when fully optioned.
The Lincoln MKS is built at Ford's Chicago Assembly plant in Chicago, Illinois.
